I have always truly valued education. I believe the role of teacher is one of the most noble and critical roles in our world. Teachers have the power to make such a huge difference and impact on every child's life. I want to be that positive teacher experience that students remember. I want to help those students who have given up or believe they can't succeed. I want to show them that they can do anything they put their minds to as long as they believe in themselves the way I believe in them. I am committed to creating a positive classroom environment for all my students. In my classroom, the word "I can't" and "I don't know" are not allowed. Students love to say they can't do something or they don't know. I always correct them by saying "..yet!" or " you do know something!" I believe students are smarter and more talented than they are given credit for. Too often I have heard teachers or other adults say "those kids are so low they will not succeed." I will never judge students based on what others have labeled them. I believe that if a teacher really shows students they care and wants to help students succeed, then students will do their best to succeed.
In my classroom, students always come first. I want to take time to get to know all my students and how they learn so I can teach in a way that appeals to all their learning styles. I also understand that every child is a unique individual with various academic needs and abilities that need to be considered when differentiating instruction. I believe it is important that I be open minded and try different styles of teaching. I know that an effective teacher is always learning and improving skills. I believe effective teaching requires clear communication and collaboration between teachers. I value any advice and ideas other teachers share with me. I believe it is critical that we work together to help the students succeed. I also believe it is extremely important that teachers, students, parents, and administrators have a positive relationship and work as a team to help students achieve their goals.I want to help all my students succeed not only inside the classroom but outside in the real world as well.
